Lets face it... I'm procrastinating doing my homework. So I'm writing this long, picture filled post that nobody is going to care about and makes me feel super high maintenance. *le sigh*
My skin sucks. I'm a ginger, sensitive to the environment (sun, pollution), and also super oily. Its a really weird combination of problems. I've had acne for a solid 16 years. Seriously, its getting old. During my pregnancy with Ben (2006), it remitted considerably, and has mostly stayed pretty mild since then, but occasionally I have some serious breakouts now and again. I almost never have completely clear skin. But I've recently, FINALLY, stumbled on a combination of products that is managing it well.
Day Time:

The Wexler Exfoliating Cleanser - My skin does best with a daily scrub. I think a big part of my issue is cell-turnover, whatever that means.
I follow the scrub with Erno Laszlo's Beta Wash. Seriously the most amazing cleanser ever. Its mildly medicinal, but also super gentle.
Erno Laszlo's Conditioning Preparation basically burns the heck out of my skin every day, but its the best thing I've ever found for controlling oil and shrinking pores. I think this product single handedly saved my skin during my super-stressful teaching job last year.
Proactiv Repairing Lotion - This keeps everything under control. It really does help with breakouts. I'm not a fan of the rest of the line, though. I also like to pretend that this is a moisturizer, because real moisturizers make my skin so oily its just gross.
Depending on how my skin feels, I either use one of two cleansers at night. The first is Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil. I know it sounds counterintuitive to use oil to clean oily skin, but its seriously magical. If you have blackhead problems, try cleansing oil.

The second cleanser I use is Keihls Acai cleanser. I love this. Its just simple and clean, and smells amazing.

I also love Keihl's toning mist. So fresh and dewy.
My favorite product of the year, Keihl's midnight recovery concentrate. Maybe this is why I don't need moisturizer ;)

If I do happen to feel dry, which happens sometimes, I use the keihl's moisturizer as well.

And at night I try to use the avocado eye treatment so I don't get wrinkly. Its too thick for day use, it makes your makeup all sticky. I do notice a huge difference when I use this.
Okay, boring post done. Back to the grind.

do you find that using more products gives you more control of your skin? I dont have great skin, but I might have a multi-product phobia as well.
