So. Food.

So I have all of these opinions about food. They come from this guy. He wrote this. And this. And it is in the process of changing my life (I seriously felt spiritual at the farmers market the other day). Its about eating fresh, local food -- grass fed beef, in-season veggies and fruits, and cooking. No processed foods. No more Mickey-shaped chicken nuggets. Its also a lot about changing our food culture and policies to support diverse farming practices so that a wide variety of fresh food is available to poeple. No more shipping food all around the world because it is grown beautifully in your backyard. Thanks to Michelle Obama's garden, gardening is up 50% in the U.S. That is wonderfully astonishing! I WILL have chickens one day, I assure you.

So today, I very much enjoyed this article about school lunches. Jamie Oliver revitalized school lunches in Brittain, and is now tackling the U.S. I like it.

So in the pursuit of eating elightened food, I attempted to make Chile Rellenos today from scratch. Farmers market sweet onions, garden tomatoes, and garden Aneheim Chiles. The only thing not local was the olive oil, garlic, eggs, and a bit of flour. I trotted out to the grill to roast the chiles, turned it on, and WHOOSH..........

I kid you not. I singed off a good portion of my hair. Thanks, food, for everything.
