I'd like to think of mothers day as a reminder of what a gift it is to be a mom. Rather than focus on what my offspring can do for me today, I would like to focus on what they do for me everyday. I love them more than anything. They have taught me so much.
And maybe Mother's Day is a great excuse to nap.

I agree. It is a gift to be a mom and that is enough. If you end up getting something else on mother's day, like a nap, it's a bonus.
